Legendary/Immortal Winchesters

The reason I still love the show so much is because of the brotherly love- it’s no wonder that the two of them ending up immortal is one of my fave tropes. Add to that their continuing badassery and legendary-ness, and I have a bunch of recs that I hope y’all would like.

Comment: The whole series is incredibly long so there’s actually a lot to read here. But I took two chapters in the story that perfectly fit in this selection of recs. They can standalone though without reading the whole verse. The verse can get dark at times but it’s an incredible journey - well worth the occasional stumbling in the dark.

Title: Old Gods Die in Autumn, Pagan Gods ‘Verse Part 1

Summary: Tremendously long 'verse in which Sam and Dean become the gods of Spring after killing the gods of Winter in A Very Supernatural Christmas. Eventual crossover with Firefly in second story arc. For more specific chapter summaries, click on link.

Comment: This is the second story from Zannes on this list and one of my absolute favorites ever. Book 1 starts out as an AU of the show after Season 3. Book 2 is a crossover with Firefly. Book 3 is an interlude with 2 original characters (and Bobby/Ellen). Book 4 is a crossover with Dark Angel and Book 5 is a crossover with Star Gate (currently ongoing, almost finished). If you have a weekend or three to curl up with an AWESOME verse, you will not regret shacking up with this one.

Summary: Future fic. Erm. Hard to explain. This is a crossover with American Gods, but you don't need to read that to understand what's going on.

Comment: Supernatural and American Gods - best combination ever. I think this could be the only ending I could accept for the show.
